Tools for the Modern Savage

Work Ready

Hand forged blades made with

every facet of your life

in mind.

A Word from Charlie

All blades are hand forged and finished by hand in my shop. As sole author, I carefully construct each blade from various steels, heat and sheer force of hammer strike. After spending most of my Army career using and destroying "milspec" blades, I realized that my version of battle ready hardware was something altogether different. I wanted reliable, work ready, durable and multi-faceted tools. I constantly seek to better my craft to bring both comfortable and quality blades to the hands of the modern savage.

Broken Anvil Knifeworks is worth any waiting turn around time for your blade. It's all about quality over quantity and the quality is perfection. Why buy a knife everyone has that was mass produced when you can have a custom knife made by American hands with proceeds going to a veteran vs a sweat shop. I have bought two blades one bein a shark tooth for my fishing bag which gets more compliments than I have gotten and a shop knife which has been abused and used and is still in awesome shape and has yet needed sharpened. Go make a order asap!

This nakiri chef knife is seriously SHARP, it's also the most beautifully made knife I have ever held. It has a gorgeous raindrop Damascus pattern. It came with easy to follow care instructions. Charles was fast to communicate and I look forward to working with him again!

Broken Anvil Blades are all heirloom quality, sharp and unique. Every blade arrives super sharp and ready to work. The style is typically rustic with a dominating character.

Charles at Broken Anvil has made me some superb Bowie, fighting, and EDC knives. His craftsmanship is excellent and each piece comes out looking unique. And the best part is that they are fully functional tools, meant for hard use!

I've purchased knives and cutting boards and they are hands down the best quality pieces in my kitchen. You can tell how much he loves his work... the quality and beauty of the knives is phenomenal.

I've worked with Charlie FOUR times now and it certainly won't be the end of it! He's created beautiful gifts... like the field knife he made for my father that will be a family heirloom for years and years to come; A mini butcher's knife for a coworker who has a passion in Italian cooking; carrying knives for myself and my friends as we all worked in an area known for violence; and my chef's knife that I seriously never put down when in the kitchen. While Charlie is great with customer service and in tune with your requests, I find it best to let him use creative freedoms with my orders. He comes up with the most beautiful and intricate of details! I'll never stop supporting his beautiful craftsmanship.

Excellent customer service. Walked me through the creation process, explained the different types of knives he makes and the different choices of metal for the blade and material for the handle. High quality product you can literally shave with.

Absolutely adore the kitchen knife and axe I ordered from Charlie. They are workhorses that I anticipate making good use of for many years to come. He is handcrafting you a piece of functional (and customizable!) art and it is worth every penny you will invest in it. Highly

I will start off by saying you get what you pay for. If you want a 50 dollar hunting knife, go elsewhere. Now if you want a knife that is going to last you (as long as you dont treat it as a monkey wrench or hammer) broken anvil is the way to go. Charles is a stand up guy who will stand behind his work. He is also a veteran and what better way to take care of a veteran then to support their business. So do yourself a favor and check his knives out. You won't be disappointed, I promise you.
